Our Work-- School of Humans

Our Work

Broadcast

We work alongside talented folks in both program development and ad sales to create long-form and short-form work for broadcast networks. In both the non-scripted and scripted space, we create stories, formats, and highly entertaining and sellable assets for the air.

Stuff You Should Know- View Series

Discovery wanted to bring their successful ‘Stuff You Should Know’ podcast to life on TV. School of Humans started with a 26 episode micro-series for Science Channel to test the waters. The response was overwhelming and we are now in production on a full scale half-hour show which imaginatively fuses factual content with humorous scripted story lies.

Web

Whether it’s a brand or a network that wants a story told, we work to tell and enhance that story through the infinite channels and storytelling possibilities offered by the web. From episodic web series to fully emmersive transmedia experiences, we know what gets shared.

Funny By Nature – View Trailer

This ten-episode web series, produced with Wittworld, showcases funny and informed conversations about the environment, with an army of famous faces weighing in on the issues. Host and green comedian Randy Kagan takes on a slew of eco-topics when he sits down with such celebrity guests as Janeane Garofalo, Chris Hardwick, and Sarah Silverman. The first season of Funny by Nature will be launching online soon.

SYSK Meets ‘Ideas for Good’- View Series

For Toyota, and in partnership with Discovery’s HowStuffWorks.com, School of Humans created a 6-episode web series that highlights the human stories behind the auto company’s new campaign, while at the same time extending the SYSK brand into the video web space. The series takes podcasters Josh & Chuck to meet with the winners of Toyota’s Ideas for Good” initiative and learn how their ideas for repurposing Toyota technologies will help make the world a better place.

Light Strike Arena- View Series

Toy company WowWee wanted to create a mythology behind its Light Strike Assault Strikers that piqued interest during their global new product launch. School of Humans created this fictional world in the form of an animated and interactive web series that tells the story of the Light Strike Arena, a world-wide secret tournament for kids. And we extended that story during launch with a full transmedia experience that takes viewers from the virtual battlefield to the real-life action, resulting in nearly 200,000 views and continuing to successfully draw our client’s prime target, the 9-15 male demographic.

Ben Sollee’s ‘Close to You’- View Video

Genre-bending cellist and vocalist Ben Sollee wanted to produce a true piece of art for the first music video off of his latest album, Inclusions, something enticing for both sight and sound. School of Humans created an intricately designed and executed one-take video, incorporating a handmade aesthetic and the coordination of nearly eighty volunteers on and off set.
